The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy, Kinshasa recommends that all travelers who will be traveling internationally log on to www.travel.state.gov and follow the links to the latest airport and other transportation security rules. These rules include significant changes that been implemented over the past 24 hours.
The most informative of these for U.S. airport security procedures is the link to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This site is updated frequently with the most current information and includes specifics on the present ban on liquids and limitations on carry-on luggage.
In addition, travelers are urged to contact their air carrier for other airport-specific flight delays or security measures in place at this time. Travelers are advised to plan for delays and to comply with all security measures in force.
