Black History Month Interview
On Thursday, February 5, Digital Congo Television interviewed the Assistant Public Affairs Officer of Embassy Kinshasa on the subject of Black History Month. The Assistant Public Affairs Officer explained the history /creation of Black History Month, its evolution, and its larger meaning for Africa in light of Barack Obama's election as the first African-American president. The interview also focused on the achievements of famous African-American inventers and other medical and technological pioneers, such as Dr. Charles Drew, founder of the first blood bank, Dr. Benjamin Carson, who pioneered medical technology for separating siamese twins, and George Alcorn, who pioneered semi-conductor technology.
