IRS/Income Tax Information
U.S. Federal Taxes
U.S. citizens must report their worldwide income on their Federal income tax returns. Living or earning income outside the United States does not relieve a U.S. citizen of responsibility for filing tax returns. However, U.S. citizens living and/or working abroad may be entitled to various deductions, exclusions, and credits. All tax forms are available at http://www.irs.gov/.
The IRS Internet Home Page has tax information and one can download forms at http://www.irs.gov/.
The Embassy does not have a Tax Advisor available to assist with the Federal Income tax matters.
U.S. citizens residing in the DRC should contact the Internal Revenue Service tax assistance through the regional office located at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France. You may find information at the following link: http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/article/0,,id=101292,00.html
