IRS/Income Tax Information
U.S. Federal Taxes
U.S. citizens must report their worldwide income on their Federal income tax returns. Living or earning income outside the United States does not relieve a U.S. citizen of responsibility for filing tax returns. However, U.S. citizens living and/or working abroad may be entitled to various deductions, exclusions, and credits. All tax forms are available at U.S. Embassy Kinshasa.
Tax assistance is available by telephone at 1-877-777-4778 (Toll-free number) or TTY/TTD 1-800-829-4059 or the general IRS toll-free number 1-800-829-1040 and (request Taxpayer Advocate Service). The IRS Internet Home Page has tax information and one can download forms at http://www.irs.gov/.
The Embassy does not have a Tax Advisor available to assist with the Federal Income tax matters.
