Call for Ceasefire in the Kivus

December 21, 2007

The United States urges the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and all armed groups, to declare immediately an unconditional ceasefire in the Kivus. This action will protect the civilian population and allow all parties to most effectively participate in the Conference on Peace, Security and Stability.
